Board Position Details
We have a number of opportunities for board member to help develop within the organization. Including: □ Diversity. Assist in the development of strategies that promote access, diversity and inclusion within DBL and its members □ Education. Assist in the development of educational programming for DBL members. □ Events. Assist in the development and implementation of special events for DBL. □ Fund Development. Work with DBL development staff to identify new DBL supporters and to steward current sponsors. □ Membership. Work with DBL’s Membership Coordinator to develop and implement strategies and concepts to support the current membership and recruit new members. □ Marketing. Assist in the development of strategies and concepts that guide and support DBL’s marketing and public relations efforts. □ Community Outreach. Developing opportunities to reach the public about the reason and purpose of Dane Buy Local.
- Board Term: Each term is 3 years and can be renewed 1 time, for a total of 6 years maximum.
- Financial Contribution: Board members are required to contribute financially.
- Faith-based Organization: We are not a faith-based organization.

Dane Buy Local's purpose is to educate the public about the benefits of thinking local first, to promote our members and their products and services to the community, and to collaborate with other like-minded organizations to achieve our vision. Our vision is two-fold: a sustainable, resilient, and fair local economy in vibrant communities that residents are proud to call home and a public that recognizes the cost of “big box” cheap vs. purchasing from locally-owned, independent businesses. We believe that national prosperity and a better quality of life, for all, begins at the local level.
