Beyond Pink Foundation
Beyond Pink Foundation is a newer non-profit in the Madison area that focuses on the unmet needs of breast cancer thrivers. Our mission is to transform the breast cancer community through powerful programming that improves lives, shatters burdens, and empowers the fighter!
Summary
We've rolled out a Warriors Supporting Warriors training program which pairs someone who has gone through breast cancer with someone who is newly diagnosed. Our goal in 2020 is to roll out this peer-to-peer support program at 2-3 other cancer centers, whether that be here in WI or nationally. We are aware of insurance barriers in cold cap therapy and fertility preservation, both areas we'd like to help breast cancer fighters with financially. We have plans to encourage careers in breast cancer science by offering a "day as a scientist" program to middle and high school students which includes a research lab tour. We're even slated to host a large research symposium conference in 2021! We've got a lot of passion and plans, but we need more man or woman power to make it happen.
Board Position
Board Member with Finance/Accounting Background We're looking for people enthused about the cause, helping, or getting involved in the community. We'd be grateful for a board member with a finance/accounting background to assist with our financial tracking, make recommendations for financial practices, and file our taxes.
Board Member with Attorney Background We're looking for people enthused about the cause, helping, or getting involved in the community. We'd be grateful for a board member with a legal services background that could assist with contract review, advise us about nonprofit liability concerns, and serve as legal counsel for the organization.
Board Member with Marketing/Social Media Background We're looking for people enthused about the cause, helping, or getting involved in the community. We'd be grateful for a board member with a marketing, graphic design, and/or social media background to run with our marketing and public relations efforts.
Development Committee Chair We're looking for people enthused about the cause, helping, or getting involved in the community. We'd be grateful for someone with fundraising and/or event planning experience that would be willing to take the lead of our development committee.
